ABOUT US

Kansas City Equipment Company was started in the early 1950’s by two Elliott Turbine salesmen. It was incorporated in December 1959. In the early 1960’s a Fluor cooling tower engineer and an American Standard salesman bought the company. In 1980 Larry Smith became a one-third owner with the balance of the ownership changing in 1985 when Mike Koontz became an equal owner. In 2006 Larry Smith took full ownership of the company. In 2012, Greg Else and Gregg Kaifes took over ownership of Kansas City Equipment Company when Larry Smith retired.
